What is the Digital Drop Box?

The Digital Drop Box allows you not only to receive files from students but also to send files to them. It allows students to send electronic versions of their assignments in a simple convenient way. It can allow you to send comments or annotated electronic copies of assignments to a student with the same ease. If, however, you want your whole class, or a large portion of your class, to have access to files, it is recommended that you attach the files to your Blackboard course site (preferably in the Course Documents area), and let students download them.

How do I send and add files with the Digital Drop Box?

1. In the Control Panel, click on Digital Drop Box in the Course Tools area.
2. Click on "Send File".
3. If the file you want to send has already been added (see below), use the Select File drop-down menu to select it.
3. If the file has not already been added, type in a title in the appropriate box, and either type in the address of the file in the box to the right of "File", or find the file by clicking on the "Browser" button.
4. Click "Submit" to attach (upload) the document.

You can add (attach) files to the Drop Box to send later in the following manner:
1. In the Control Panel, click on Digital Drop Box in the Course Tools area.
2. Click on "Add File".
3. Type in a title in the appropriate box, and either type in the address of the file in the box to the right of "File", or find the file by clicking on the "Browser" button.
4. Click "Submit" to attach (upload) the document.

How can I view student assignments using the Digital Drop Box?

A file that has been sent to you by a student can be viewed or downloaded in two different ways:

1. You can just click on the file.
2. It is recommended that you download the file with the mouse right-click, because it means you can view the file while you are offline. Also, it allows you to avoid problems that may occur when another program is activated while running Blackboard.
